No Cost Memory Screening
What is a Memory Screening?
A memory screening is the first step in determining if you qualify for a clinical trial at The CRCNJ. Memory screenings are not conducted for diagnostic purposes and do not replace your medical care. The information obtained from the screening will better enable you to take charge of your brain health and make or change lifestyle choices that may impact your memory or other cognitive skills.
The screening takes less than an hour and occurs in a private setting with just you and a screener. The memory screening consists of a series of questions and/or tasks designed to test your memory, thinking ability, language skills and other intellectual functions.
After the test, the screening administrator reviews the results with you and suggests whether you should follow up with more extensive testing and whether you qualify for a clinical trial. The results of your memory screening are confidential, but with written permission, we will provide a copy to your practitioner.
Why Get a Memory Screening?
If you are aged 50 years or older, screening for memory or other cognitive impairment should be part of your yearly health regimen.
Memory screenings are important to:
- Assess whether cognitive performance falls within expected age range norms
- Determine eligibility for further screening as part of a research study
- Be informed about whether further clinical work-up is recommended
At The CRCNJ, we offer memory screenings are no cost to you. Don’t wait! Contact The CRCNJ to determine if you are eligible for a no cost memory screening.
